Compassion International is a child-advocacy ministry that pairs compassionate people with those who are suffering from poverty “to release children from poverty in Jesus’ name.” Through physical, social, economic and spiritual care, they help children fully mature in every facet of life and transcend a legacy of poverty. Compassion partners with indigenous local churches to address the holistic, long-term needs of children of all faiths, cultures, backgrounds and races. Their child sponsorship program is the only one validated as effective through independent, empirical research. With nearly 7,000 international church partners in Asia, Africa, South America, Central America and the Caribbean, Compassion has sponsored more than 1.8 million children over the past 65 years.
