Preface
By Julie Wilson, President of Women Doing Well
A sea change is occurring in Christian philanthropy and stewardship. As opportunities improve for women to acquire wealth and become financially independent, women are growing increasingly wealthy. Currently, more than half of the personal wealth in the United States is owned by women,1 and 45 percent of millionaires are women.2
Over the next two decades, as older generations begin aging and passing on their wealth, women are set to inherit 70 percent of the $40 trillion changing hands.3 This will put women in control of two-thirds of the wealth in the United States by 2030. Women also outlive men by five years on average,4 and the stunning reality is 95 percent of women will be the financial decision-maker for their family at some point in their lives.5
