In this week’s Barna Minute, we find out if pastors are open to new ways of conducting church ministry.
In the spring of 2022, Barna asked pastors this question: “Today, how willing are you to consider new ways of conducting church ministry?” Half of all U.S. pastors (51%) say they are very willing to consider new ways of conducting church ministry, while 44 percent say they are somewhat willing to do so. When looking at pastors who have considered leaving full-time ministry in the past year, this number of those who are very willing to explore new ways of conducting church ministry jumps considerably to three in five (62%).
The data show that, in the midst of great pressure and disruption, pastors are willing to consider new ways of doing ministry.
